This poor little fox arrived at a woman's back door in Dundrum on Saturday.
The woman regularly feeds foxes that come to her garden but she noticed that this particular fox needed help.
She contacted the Kildare Animal Foundation Wildlife Unit who responded immediately and arrived with a humane trap to catch the fox and bring him back to the care centre.
Once in the hands of these wonderful volunteers, they began treating him for mange which can kill animals if left untreated.
He is in a really bad condition and the mange has caused him to loose most of his fur. His body has been using all of his energy to fight the skin disease making him severely underweight.
A volunteer at Kildare Animal Foundation Wildlife Unit said he is responding well to treatment.
"He is looking very bright today."
They expect him to be at the care centre for at least another six to eight weeks until he is healthy enough to be released back into the wild. They will be posting more updates about the fox, who they've named Cillian, as he continues his treatment.
