Johnson and Johnson to award €64m to woman who claims their talc products gave her ovarian cancer

A woman in California who claims using talc for years gave her ovarian cancer has been awarded more than €64m in damages.
Gloria Ristesund accused Johnson and Johnson of "negligent conduct" in the making and marketing of its baby powder.
According to Ms Ristesund's lawyer she used the company's talc-based products for years and contracted ovarian cancer. The firm says it will appeal against the verdict because there's scientific evidence the product is safe.
J&J spokesperson Carol Goodrich has said the verdict contradicts 30 years of research supporting the safety of the product.
