Indie gaming studio Hello Games has had a hectic couple of months, and it appears to be taking its toll on the small developer.
Having released the hugely anticipated open universe game No Man’s Sky in the summer – something it had been working on for more than four years – the studio was soon the target of fierce criticism from some quarters over the final version of the game.
At the time of writing there have been mixed reports as to who sent the tweet. Mashable has claimed Hello Games told them it was a disgruntled employee, while Polygon is reporting that in an email claiming to be from studio head Sean Murray, he admitted to sending the tweet himself before another team member removed it.
“We have not been coping well,” Murray is reported to have said.
While the conflicting reports remain there’s no way to be certain what happened, though a further, official reply is likely to come at some point.
