A date has been set for the switching on of Dublin's Christmas lights

The days are getting colder, the evenings are getting darker and television listings are upping their game - let’s face it, it’s practically Christmas.
To celebrate that fact, the Grafton Street Christmas light will be switched on on November 13.
The lights will stretch over 4.5 kilometres and it will take over 200 hours for the lights to be installed throughout the city.
Over the next few weeks, DublinTown will hang and individually test over 1,000,000 light bulbs and fixtures.

“This year we are proud to announce that Henry street & Mary street will be getting brand new Christmas lights which will enhance the look of entire street this festive season,” said CEO of DublinTown Richard Guiney.
“I would encourage everyone to go to town for one of our Christmas lighting ceremonies to experience the magic of Dublin at Christmas.”
The lights will remain up until January 7.
The Christmas lights in Cork will also be switched on November 13.
