Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has spoken to US President-elect Donald Trump and has already received an invitation to meet.
Mr Netanyahu said Mr Trump invited him to meet "at the first opportunity" in a phone call on Wednesday.
A statement from Mr Netanyahu's office said the Israeli leader congratulated Mr Trump on his win and said that "the US has no better ally than Israel".
The statement described their conversation as "warm", and said they spoke about regional issues.
Israel and the US are close allies, but relations were often tense between Mr Netanyahu and President Barack Obama, mainly over Israel's policies toward the Palestinians and concerns over the US-led nuclear deal with Iran.
Mr Netanyahu and Mr Trump are friendly and ties are expected to improve.
Mr Netanyahu met with Mr Trump and Hillary Clinton in September.
