CSO figures show rise in sales of new cars

New car sales rose by 2.9% last month, according to figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO data shows 4,056 new private cars were licensed in October, 113 more than the same month last year.

The number of used or imported private cars jumped by more than 67% to 6,753.
