Amid all the exciting new gaming and console releases at this time of year, a piece of gaming nostalgia deserves your attention too.
Nintendo has taken what is regarded by many as one of the most important gaming systems ever made – the Nintendo Entertainment Sytem (NES) – the console that gave us the chance to play Super Mario Bros, The Legend Of Zelda and Final Fantasy at home for the first time, and miniaturised it.
The result is the Classic Mini – a tiny console complete with full size controllers that plugs into your TV via HDMI cable and comes with 30 classic games built right in. What it does is essentially transport you back to 1986, when the console first launched.
The appeal doesn’t just stop at nostalgia though. When it goes on sale on November 11 it will do so for just £49.99 – a similar price to that of a single modern console game.

Those lucky enough to already have their hands on the Mini are already raving about it.
