A man changed his name to iPhone 7 to get a free phone

The Apple iPhone 7 is a highly coveted item, and that means some people are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to get one.

The latest chapter is the story of a fellow named Olexander Turin. He's 20 years old and comes from the Ukraine and really, really wanted an iPhone 7 but didn't have the cash for one of the expensive new phones. Then he got wind of an offer from a local electronics retailer. All he had to do was change his name to the same as the phone model to pick up one for free!

And so it came to pass that a real life person in 2016 is now called iPhone Sim (Seven). The name change was fully legal and binding, and the young man managed to pick up the free phone.

Now his family is getting used to the change and the fellow himself says that he's going to keep the name for the time being, and might change it in the future if he has kids.
